Does not ejaculating increase testosterone?

The evidence says no. The widely repeated "testosterone peaks on day seven" figure rests on a single study of 28 men that was published twice, retracted in 2021, and never independently replicated. Nothing supports a sustained hormonal benefit from long-term abstinence.

Mixed evidence Myth

This is one of the most confidently stated claims in the whole space, and it has one of the thinnest foundations.

Trace it back and you arrive at one small study: 28 men, a transient rise reported around the seventh day, then back to baseline. That paper was published twice, was retracted in 2021 for duplicate publication, and has never been replicated by anyone else. That is the whole basis for a very large edifice of videos and forum posts.

Even taking the retracted result at face value, it described a brief blip, not a sustained elevation, and there is no evidence of any lasting hormonal change from long-term retention. Beyond the hormone claim, the pheromone and "people can notice" claims have no evidence and no mechanism.

If you feel sharper or more capable after a period of abstinence, that is worth taking seriously as a psychological effect of succeeding at something difficult. It is not testosterone, and it is not the calendar.
